Options include face to face sessions & online learning. 3Bridges Community can help with planning your workshop and organising specialist facilitators to ensure it meets your requirements.

Grants Writing Workshops

Sutherland Shire Council and 3Bridges Community are hosting two grant writing workshops in February for local community organisations and anyone interested in learning more about grant writing, where to find grants and how to win them.

 

The online workshops will be delivered by 'The Grants Guys' Keith Whelan.

 

Keith will take you through grant writing do’s and don’ts, project planning, budget preparation and how to complete an acquittal. The workshop is ideal for not-for-profit groups, community organisations and anyone who wants to know more about current funding opportunities and how to prepare a competitive application.

 

A Council representative will also be on hand to discuss the upcoming round of Council Community Grants.

Understanding Dementia

This workshop is for support workers supporting people living with dementia and provides an overview of dementia, including signs and symptoms, causes, and an understanding of how dementia affects the brain and behaviour. Your will be encouraged to reflect on your own practice and ways this knowledge translates into person-centred support for people living with dementia.

 

You will gain knowledge in:

  • the nature of dementia, including prevalence, risks, types of dementia, how the brain works and signs of dementia,
  • a person-centred approach to dementia support; including communication, choice and decision making.

Practical tips Common Mental Health Issues

This workshop will give staff the skills to implement wellness and reablement and person-centred thinking in working with older people and their allies.
