Practical tips Common Mental Health Issues

In this 3-hour workshop you will discover just how prevalent mental health issues are in contemporary Australia. Participants will learn how to provide appropriate and timely referral, how to de-escalate a mental health crisis whilst maintaining their own

safety and that of their client.

• Briefly discuss depression, anxiety and psychosis.

• Learn how to recognise the signs a client may be experiencing a mental health crisis.

• How to safely de-escalate the situation.

The unit applies to all persons who may be required to provide a first aid response in a range of situations, including community and workplace settings. The HLTAID011 Provide First Aid course is the NEW updated version of this course, replacing the superseded HLTAID003 Provide First Aid course. Statement of Attainment will be issued by Training Beyond 2000 RTO 90323.

Aimed at CHSP providers this course explores governance in a changing aged care landscape. Firstly, we will look inward at the roles, duties and obligations of the Board and senior management and learn how to embed a systems approach to governance. We will then look outward at the legislative and compliance environment, evaluating your organisation’s governance systems against requirements. Lastly, we will look forward to the future aged care sector and the role of the Board and senior management in leading culture and strategy. The course is delivered online over 3 x 2 hours zoom sessions. Workshops are interactive involving group work, discussion, case studies, and practical tools and resources.

Virtual Communications Training - 3 day series

Virtual volunteering enables people to continue to contribute and keep connected when face-to-face volunteering is not possible during the COVID-19 pandemic and at other times.

 

Our Virtual Communications Training is designed to equip volunteer-involving organisations with customised skills sets for virtual volunteering. Device specific training days covers different virtual tools including some hints and tips that are specific to their operating systems.

 

Participating organisations must be a current Volunteer Link member or a CHSP funded volunteering organisations in the St George/Sutherland Shire.
