Here’s what it means for you
The Australian Government’s new Support at Home reforms begin next week, on 1 November 2025. The good news is that 3Bridges has already been working under the new model since 1 July 2025. This means your care will continue just as it is now, with no interruptions. You will automatically move into the Support at Home program from 1 November.
If your Home Care Package was assessed after 12 September 2024, there may be some small updates to your plan, but don’t worry, we will walk you through them.
What’s changing from 1 November
Your funding
- No money lost: Any unspent funds you have will move across with you and can still be used for your services.
- Quarterly payments: Instead of being paid daily, your funding will now come in quarterly. The total amount does not change.
- More flexibility: You will be able to roll over up to $1,000 or 10% of your quarterly budget (whichever is higher) to help cover any extras when you need them.
- Co-contribution: The Government is still finalising details around co-contributions. We will share updates as soon as they’re available.
Assistive Technology
There is also a stronger focus on assistive technology, things that help you stay safe and independent at home, like mobility aids, communication devices, or home safety equipment.
