3Bridges services will be available throughout Christmas and New Years, excluding public holidays. Due to annual leave, there may be a few less team members working over the holidays, but we will have someone there take your call or respond to your email. Making the tough decisions

3Bridges Community volunteers are the heart of our organisation, we rely on their passion, generosity and their commitment to our families, carers and individuals. As the reality of COVID-19 became more real, the decision had to be made to stand down our wonderful volunteers immediately.

Keeping staff engagement while at home

With Covid-19 descending upon us and restrictions increasing daily, we had plans in place structurally to ensure our staff could continue providing quality care and delivering services to our much-valued community.

How to Hug During a Pandemic!

The New York Times had an article by Tar Parker-Pope discussing the issue of how we miss hugs and we actually do need them. Physical affection reduces stress by calming our sympathetic nervous system, which during times of worry releases damaging stress hormones into our bodies. “Affectionate touch is how our biological systems communicate to one another that we are safe, that we are loved, and that we are not alone” (Johannes Eichstaedt, social scientist and psychology professor at Stanford University).

Intergenerational Program - A Story From Narani Childcare Centre

From the moment we enter the Childcare Centre, we're grouped by age. But there are numerous benefits to connecting older and younger generations with one another. 

The intergenerational programs are “relationship based,". The same adults and children work together on a regular basis over an extended period of time.

What Our Dementia Groups Are Doing Differently During These Challenging Times

In line with COVID-19 pandemic, Meeting Centre Support Program (MCSP) had to quickly respond and restructure itself from a group-based program to an individual, one on one support for our members. Now that the anxiety and panic of the pandemic has settled, we, the MCSP team, have been able to re-evaluate and reflect on our experiences and learnings over the last couple of months.
