NAIDOC Week 2023
Youth & Family Day
5 July | 10 am – 3 pm
Penshurst Park
643A King Georges Road, next to Hurstville Aquatic Centre
NAIDOC is about celebrating and respecting the oldest continually surviving culture on Earth – the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of Australia. This event is about connecting with our diverse local communities, building partnerships with other local organisations, and coming together to celebrate culture. This year’s theme is For Our Elders, and this year we celebrate all Elders as the important cornerstones of our community that they are.
The event will have a range of activities, starting with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony. There will be cultural performances throughout the day, a variety a stalls including free sausage sizzle, community services, market stalls, jumping castle, inflatable obstacle course, Bubble Soccer, face painting, sensory space, a Baby Bridges Tent, Elders activities and much more.
A big highlight will also be the Oz Tag competition which will be going throughout the day.
