Diversity, Inclusion & Equity at 3Bridges

Through multicultural connections, we can experience a wide range of perspectives, traditions, and experiences, and create a more inclusive and diverse environment.

Rather than seeing our differences as barriers, we view them as opportunities for personal growth and collective progress. We celebrate our diversity! It is the cornerstone of who we are as an organisation and our positive impact on our team, clients and communities.

Cultural Community Events

Cultural Community Events

Experience the magic of unity through diversity at our Cultural Community Events and celebrate the threads that bind our community together.

Each year, during the first week of July, 3Bridges hosts a fantastic community event in the Georges River area where everyone is welcome to enjoy the NAIDOC Week event. There is a community market that showcases Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses in addition to various community organisations. You’ll find an Oztag competition, kids entertainment, seniors engagement and so much more!

Community Iftar

The Iftar event is a beautiful mix of tradition and unity. As the sun set, the moment everyone had been waiting arrives when the call to prayer announced, signaling the end of the fast. Laughter and conversation, creates an atmosphere of togetherness that bridges cultural and religious differences. At the Iftar, the diversity of those present shows how the Iftar tradition unites people from all backgrounds.

Each year 3Bridges co-hosts the Community Iftar with Al Zahra College, empowering the young people to participate and engage in hosting the event.

Will’s Journey

Will Gordon is a proud Kabi-Kabi Goreng Goreng and the Aboriginal Targeted Programs Coordinator at 3Bridges.  Will works closely with community in South-Eastern Sydney to deliver the Indigenous Learning Program in Primary and High schools with his team. This program supports young Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people to connect with culture and learn about Blak history through art, yarning, and Indigenous games. Will was a lead planner for the largest NAIDOC celebration in the Georges River area in 2022 and 2023, and built the Burbangana Aboriginal Youth Mentoring program at 3Bridges. Not only does Will work within Indigenous communities, he actively participates in local events to support everyone – this year at the Community Iftar, IDAHOBIT Morning Tea, and local Dementia Forum. Outside of work, Will is a husband and father of 3, coaches the Redfern All Blacks footy for the U8s boys and girls teams, has run the Waterloo Storm Aboriginal Rugby League Club for the last 20 years, and is a community leader in Redfern and surrounds. With his combined approach of humour, genuineness, his 20+ year’s experience in community services, and ‘have a go’ attitude, Will finds opportunity for collaboration, community, and growth potential for all.
