31 May National Volunteer Week 2018
National Volunteer Week is the annual celebration to acknowledge the generous contribution of Australia’s volunteers.
During the week of 21–27 May 2018, 3Bridges Community organised fabulous events across South East Sydney to say thank you to all the volunteers.
The week celebrations included breakfasts, morning/afternoon teas, and luncheons as well as free movie screening, award sessions and influential speakers.
The theme this year was “Give a little. Change a lot” – which represents millions of volunteers who make a huge impact in the community.
3Bridges Community welcomed volunteers from various organisations such as Advance Diversity, Anglicare, Conservation Volunteers Australia, Crossroads Community Care, John Paul Village, Karimbla Community, St George District Red Cross, Sutherland Shire Council, Thomas Holt and many more.
Special thanks to our amazing speakers, CEO of The Centre For Volunteering – Gemma Rygate, Mayor of Sutherland Shire Council – Carmelo Pesce, Member for Oatley – Mark Coure as well as former Australian NRL player – Jason Stevens.
We would also like to thank 1908 Cronulla Restaurant, Event Cinemas Westfield Hurstville for the great space to celebrate, Trace of Magic for exciting entertainment as well as the Cake Studio Sans Souci for providing us with delicious cake.
We hope you celebrate Volunteering Week with 3Bridges Community next year and don’t forget that the greatest gift you can give is your time.
