Strengthening Learning Capacities

Arrowsmith Program

The Arrowsmith Program is based on neuroscience research.

Research has shown it is possible to address learning disabilities by identifying and strengthening weak cognitive capacities. The goal of the program is to help students strengthen the weak cognitive capacities underlying their learning dysfunctions and to enable them to become effective, confident and self-directed learners for life.

Who is the Arrowsmith Program for?

People with different learning challenges and/ or for those who want to develop and maintain an active and healthy brain. The Arrowsmith Program is NDIS eligible. Programs may benefit individuals who struggle with:

  • working memory, reading maps, finding objects
  • reading body language, social cues and interpreting emotions
  • awkward body movements, bumping into things
  • difficulty with maths, reading, writing, spelling, comprehending, letter and number reversals
  • difficulty following or understanding conversations, thinking and talking at the same time, misinterpreting information
  • organisation and problem solving

Arrowsmith Mission Statement

The Arrowsmith Program is an evidence based cognitive enhancement program for all ages, designed to focus on the areas of the brain that are not functioning to full capacity, with a focus not only on improving students cognitive ability but transforming their lives. We offer a tailored flexible learning platform with centre based teaching, online teaching  and individualised support.

A personalised program is created for students as no two individuals are alike, targeting specific neurological pathways. Our staff are program experts, they are highly skilled teachers, facilitators and coaches, with a passion for making a difference. Our goal is to incorporate the classroom learnings with overarching social and community inclusivity to allow a well-rounded educational experience and support each individual reach their full potential.
